Dave Woolass is a Yorkshire Artist with a strong art background who works in numerous mediums : Water-colour, Oils, Pastels,Pen & Wash, Pencil and Silver Point, covering a wide range of subjects from Portrait and Figure Studies to Landscapes and Still Life.
His interest goes back to his childhood when he remembers being inspired by some of his Grandfather's drawings. From an early age Dave's remarkable gift as an artist was evident, showing keen understanding of depth, perspective, composition and an amazing eye for detail.
Dave used to teach Art ( Further Education ) at Doncaster College (UK.) and now runs numerous private classes, as well as demonstrating throughout the country for Art Societies, Galleries and for Manufacturers of art materials. He has also undertaken numerous commissions, both private and commercial, from portrait sittings to magazine covers.
Dave's work has become recognised far and wide for marvelous effects of light and colour (particularly in his woodland and landscape paintings) and the amount of detail captured in every painting.
You will find Dave's work is represented in private collections throughout the United Kingdom, Germany, France and the U.S.A.
Dave is also a very accomplished picture framer with over 19 years of experience, winning numerous framing awards for his outstanding designs and very high quality.
